Idolatry, is in its essence, the worship of idols, images or anything. But lets not get too serious here as this isn't another lesson in Theology. Its all about the players at WLO having the misconception of idolizing someone they knew without really knowing them.
One perfect example are the members of the Phantom guild headed by its leader, Lucicrap...*ahem*... Lucisac. This guild can be found somewhere in the Taurus server. They adored their leader so much it sickened me at times. 2 of its members told me they idolized him because he is no. 1 on level rank. Will they still admired him when they found out the true color behind the man in question?
I initilially never meddled with him nor with any other members of his guild. Lucisac was an unknown guy who suddenly was put on the spotlight when he rose to the top 10 level rank.
I came to know him when he took things personally the day a series of Taurus botters was revealed at the official WLO forum. He was loud enough to state that he was on a mission to find more botters. How pathetic it is....he can simply find a botter right where he stand... himself.
On a personal account, Lucisac started barking on the wrong tree by reporting yours truly on 2 different occasions. He first reported my mining girl when she was mining side by side with his moneychick girl. He wasn't apologetic when I told him he reported an honest mining girl.
The second incident happened right after we did instances together. My team got a surprised pop-up messages by the GM asking me to solve some crap Mathematical equations. I demanded the live support team to reveal the source of who reported me. They told me in one word: Lucisac
From that day on, I set a personal vendetta against him. He savored being the current no. 1 on Taurus. My water is next to him and 6 levels behind. I honestly do not care whether I am no. 1 or no. 100 for ranking meant so little to me. It is the quality of the chars that I care for. I am not sure if I can managed to overtake his spot but that will be too juicy of a challenge to pass on.
In conclusion, I would rather be fond of a sheep than idolized someone as crap as Lucisac. He needs to learn to back off and stop minding others where he doesn't belong. If he think being in the pinnacle of the Taurus will make him important, then I feel sorry for him. For it is a lonely world to be on top.
